Deaf Education In New Zealand Timeline

Hi my name is Panharith and today our task today was to create a timeline about deaf education in New Zealand. To do this task I first had to make a presentation on Canva then I found a template of a timeline, then I copied it, I changed some stuff like the words and the colours. Did you know that the Deaf Education in New Zealand started in 1880? It was located in Sumner, Christchurch, it was later renamed a century later, to Van Asch Deaf Education Center. Also a conference was held in Italy, the deaf people who attended thought they were going to learn Sign language but instead they didn’t, on April 6 2006 Sign Language officially became a Language in New Zealand. What I found challenging was probably writing the text since I didn’t know about the Deaf Education system in New Zealand until I read the book, what I learn’t from reading the book, that Sign Language was banned. What I found super easy was probably doing the colouring and the title, it was easy but it took a few minutes colouring the line, I hope you had a great time reading my blog, Bye.

The Story Of The Ventnor

Hello, my name is Panharith and over the week I have been doing the slideshow and filling the slideshow out. The book based on this slide show was called The Story Of The Ventnor. The book is based on a true event that happen in the early 1900s, it was a ship that were carrying 500 Chinese people remains who were apart of the famous Gold Rush in New Zealand, one person on board was Choie Sew Hoy he was business professional, who died in 1901, one year before the sinking of the SS Ventnor. The reason why the SS Ventnor sank was because of a rock, I wonder how big the rock was if it could sink a huge ship? This slideshow was full of question based on the Story which I had to fill out, they weren’t that hard. What I found the easiest was probably doing the Title page, the title page was super easy, but their was some hard part like thinking what I should do for the title page. What I found the most challenging was probably doing the last five slides, three of them I had to do it with a buddy, and the last two I had to fill it out my self, I hope you had a great time reading my blog post, Bye!

Emotions Art

Hello, my name is Panharith and over the term we have been learning about emotions in art, and over the term we created this, it was a piece of art that we did to show our feelings. In my piece of art, I’ve included ‘ Anger, Sad, Happy, and Calm. The red scribbles which means Anger, Green and the 3D line mean Happy, Blue  stands for Sad and Tired. To do this task we first had to do a colour wheel and a drawing on what the emotions will look like. Then we started a our art, we first had to do a semi circle and eyes at the bottom, once we had done this, I started to do the emotions, It took some time. Once I had done that I then had to go over with permanent marker, then I used water colours show the emotions colour. What I found challenging was probably going over the emotions with permanent marker since of the anger emotion, I had to scribble. What I found the easiest was probably using the water colours since it took a few minutes to do unlike the permanent marker, I hope you had a great time reading my blog post, Bye.

Sprit Of The Bird

Hi, my name is Panharith and last week we had a task to do on Canva. It was based on the story we read in our journey we got from our teacher. The book we read was called ‘Sprit Of The Bird, it was about a Maori Girl named Pai who lives with her Father, and Grandmother. Pai has a mission to get a Moa, but doesn’t want to, since she knows if she hunts a Moa, and kills it they will become extinct and will be gone forever. Pai, doesn’t enjoy hunting for food, she enjoys painting on the caves wall. To do this task I first had to make a presentation in Canva then I searched up cliff and then I played around the cliffs and in the end the results were nice. What I found the most challenging was probably finding the Moa, and the a Girl that resembled Pai. What I found the easiest was probably making the background, I just searched up cliff and played around with the cliffs. I hope you had a good time reading my blog post, Bye.

To do this task we had the option to use a template which already had a design or make your own poster, I choose to create my own poster, on Canva. Some rules around the school pool is ‘No Pets around the School Pool, and No running around the School pool’, that was just some of the rules their are still more and some on my poster. The poster was to hard to create, I actually started the poster like last week ago, but I ran out of time and had to finished today. We had to write 5 rules and had to measure our height which we did a few days ago, my height was 140 CM or 1.4 M, the deepest point in the School pool is 170 CM or 1.7 M and the shortest part of the school pool was 70 CM. What I found super challenging was probably creating the photos, I made 3 since their wasn’t any good ones. What I found easy was probably writing the rules of the school pools since it didn’t take to long. I hope you had a good time reading my blog post, Bye.

SLJ Make A Splash Kick Start

Hello, I’m Panharith and today our task for the Summer Learning Journey was called Make A Splash and the challenging for this task was making our own Water Obstacle Course. We had the choice to do it on Google Drawing, but I chose to make my Water Obstacle Course on Canva. To do this task I first had to watch the videos linked on the activity, one of the videos were what a Water Obstacle Course looked liked, once I watched the video I got some idea what a Water Obstacle Course looked liked. Then I went to Canva to make a presentation to make the Water Obstacle Course. The Water Obstacle Course I made has Logs where you have to walk on it and make sure not to fall, and the end there is a slide for you to slide down to the finish, and has many more thing to do. This task wasn’t that hard, but it did take like 30 minutes, if the Water Obstacle Course was real I would definitely want to go on the one I created since, I could race my family and friends. What I found the most challenging, would probably be finding the images since all the images I saw on Canva weren’t that good. What I found super easy was probably doing the naming for my Water Obstacle Course. This will probably be my last task for this year’s Summer Learning Journey since, today is the last day for the Summer Learning Journey, I hope you had a good time reading at my blog post, Bye.

SLJ The Manu Splash Kick Start

Hello, I’m Panharith and today our task for the Summer Learning Journey was called The Manu Splash, the task we had to do was making a water splash on Google Drawing. To do this task I first had to watch some videos, the videos didn’t take that long since all of them were very short. Then I had to make a copy of a Google Drawing which was linked on the activity, the Google Drawing already had a Background and some water splashes but I chose to make my own Water Splash/Manu. I also added a person that was doing a Manu with my splash, I couldn’t find a good image of a person diving so I just chose this one and It was a nice picture of someone diving, I also used Remove BG to remove the background. The end results of the person doing the Manu was nice but the not best, I think I could do a better job next time. What I found super challenging was probably doing the Splash/Manu since I don’t know how to do a good Splash/Manu. What I found super easy was probably finding the water image and the boy doing the Manu/Splash since I found a image and used Remove BG to remove the Background, I hope you had a good time reading my blog post, Bye.

SLJ Seaside Math Quest Kick Start

Hello, I’m Panharith and today our task for the Summer Learning Jounrey was called Seaside Math Quest. This task was on Google Slides, and the slide showed had 7 slides in total and 5 out of the 7 had 3 question each which I had to fill out. Some question were hard while some questions were super easy, to do this task I first had to watch some videos which were linked to the activity. Then I had to make a copy of the Slideshow where I had to answer questions, after that I had to blog it. This task was easy and hard at the same time, since it took like 30 or more minutes to finish the entire slideshow, this task was a fun task since it had me to use my creativity, this task was about Shapes and Patterns. What I found super easy was probably finding the images since I just had to write what I was looking for and just click a button and that was what I found super easy. What I found super challenging was probably doing the question where I had to use my creativity, since some of the question took like 10 or less minutes and all of them were nice, I hope you had a good time reading my blog post, Bye.

SLJ Pirate Map Kick Start

Hello, I’m Panharith and today our task for the Summer Learning Journey was to draw our own Treasure Map. To do this task I first had to watch some videos about Treasure Map, once I watched the videos I then looked what I had to do for this task. When I knew what I was doing, I went to get the equipment to draw my Treasure Map, I got a piece of Paper, a pencil, and a colouring pencils. This task didn’t take to long, I think it took like under ten minutes. I drew a island where there was a red X to mark where the treasure was, I also added a compass where it showed North, East, South, and West, and I also ripped the sides of the paper and screwed it up to make it look old. The ending result were nice and I think I did a good job but I think a could do a better map. What I found challenging was drawing the compass of the map, since I didn’t know what a compass looked like and what was North, East, South and West. What I found the easiest part of this activity was ripping the paper and drawing the island since I got some pasta and spread it out on the paper and traced it, to make the island. Sorry If you can’t see the Treasure map clearly, Bye.

SLJ Submarine Fun Kick Start

Hello, I’m Panharith and today our task for the Summer Learning Jounrey was called Submarine Fun. For this task we had to create our own Submarine, on paper with pen and pencil or Google Drawing, I chose to do my Submarine own Google Drawing. To do this task, I first had to watch videos of a Submarine and some facts about a Submarine, the videos were boring, but I learn’ted a lot of things about Submarines. Three facts about Submarine, is that Submarines sink by taking the Ocean’s Water and putting the Oceans water in a Large Tank and Submarine has the ability to stay underwater for several months! One last interesting fact about Submarines is that the first ever Submarine marine was built in 1620 by a man named Cornelis Drebbel. I then had to make a Google Drawing then I created my Submarine, I used some shaped and I used the Polyline Tool and Curve Tool to create my Submarine. What I found challenging was doing the Submarine since some part on the Submarine were tricky to do but some part of the Submarine were also easy to do. What I found the easiest part of this activity was doing the windows of the Submarine since I just needed circles and I just coloured and the windows turned out to be nice, I hope you had a good time reading my blog post, Bye.
